As Big Data Admin, your role is to streamline all operations and process to excel in dynamic, fast-moving, and agile environment. You will work aside a seasoned team whose main objective is to communicate with other departments, administration and business teams to manage and maintain large clusters of data.

Roles & Responsibilities

Hands on experience in deploying Big Data clusters involving Hadoop (HDFS/Yarn/Hive), HBase, Kafka, Storm, Solr, Spark, Zookeeper
Good to have skills – Cassandra, Mongo DB, RabbitMQ
Fluent in at least one of the following scripting languages – Python, bash
Hands on experience with configuring cluster security using Kerberos, ACL
Sound Unix/ Linux operating system understanding, including user management, security & permissions.
Good understanding of OS parameters, network topologies, storage options for optimal Hadoop cluster configuration
Strong verbal and written communication skills are mandatory
Hands on experience with data security using Ranger, Sentry, Knox, etc.
Hands on experience with Ambari/Cloudera Manager
Hands on experience with Cloudera/HDP/Apache distributions
Hands on experience of running tools like Oozie and Sqoop
Hands on experience in any one RDBMS –MySQL/PostgreSQL – Ability to install any of these databases as meta store database, create schema, populate data, import/export, create users/roles etc.
Good understanding of high availability, fault tolerance, data replication
Good understanding of Hadoop benchmarks and other performance benchmarks for optimal configuration
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills are mandatory to support production issues
General operational expertise such as good troubleshooting skills, understanding of system’s capacity, bottlenecks, basics of memory, CPU, OS, storage, and networks.
    Good to have skills
  • Knowledge of Troubleshooting Core Java Applications is a plus.
  • Exposure to cloud technologies preferably AWS will be added advantage
  • Hands on experience on monitoring tools like Nagios, Ganglia etc. Ability to deploy, create plug-ins for custom monitoring stats
