Job Description

As a Computer System Analyst, your role is to provide system analysis & design, development, implementation and support services for automotive industry organization for their dealer communication systems and help provide an excellent user experience to the dealers as well as end customers of the organization. You will be required to provide these services in the customer service department as well as technical services department of the organization. You will need to have a deep understanding of the system architecture and framework that supports these applications. You will work aside a team of seasoned engineers as well as coordinate with various stake holders and  third parties whose main objective is to maintain all aspects of the overall software development lifecycle and to ensure the on-time & quality delivery of software product releases. The detailed requirements of the position is as follows

  • Analyze system requirements & interfaces for Parts Distribution System, Dealer Communication System, Global Supply Chain Management System, Warranty Claims, Global Warranty System (GWS) etc. for our major US client, an automotive manufacturer and distributor.
  • Perform system study and solution building for data processing and automation solutions.
  • Interact with business users to gather understanding of the issues and requirements. Convert requirements into business and technical specifications.
  • Troubleshoot problems in an ongoing basis, in order to keep business operations up and running within a given service level agreement (SLA) using JHS, IBM fault analyzer, debugger etc.
  • Automate handling of regular issues to ensure accuracy & less human effort involved.
  • Coding and Testing, Design, development, verification, deployment and production support for US customer applications using tools such as IBM file manager, SPUFI, JCL, Rexx, DB2, MQ Series, CICS etc.
  • Guide/train other IT team members in the area of automotive manufacturing and distribution which includes parts distribution (ordering, returns, invoicing, logistics, inventory etc.), service and warranty (claims, appeals, repair orders, warranty programs etc.) lines of business.
  • Maintain production systems by providing prompt support using IT Services.
  • Handling client escalations and expectations pro-actively    

Competencies/ Skills

    • Study the existing system
    •  Identify any scope for enhancement to improve business process to make the application more efficient and gather requirements pertaining to the process improvements
    • Prepare presentation on the model of the ‘To-Be’ state of the applications post project/enhancement
    •  Stay current with customer needs and strategies; utilizing formal and informal written communication methods (for example, PowerPoint presentations, task lists etc.) to communicate updates and findings; and facilitating project meetings and presentations to all relevant stakeholders including third party vendors.
  •  Requirement gathering through interactions with business
    • Schedule working sessions with business users and external service providers to base-line requirements and conclude on the solution.
    • Understand the new requirements and identify and close the requirement gaps and prepare relevant documentation.
    •  Create and maintain issue logs, meeting minutes, meeting schedules to resolve an issues/business questions during the course of the project, project summaries and updates
    • Meet with project team regularly to review project deliverables and deadlines
    • Finally obtain the sign-off on the requirements and baseline the requirements.
  • Application Design, Development, Testing, Deployment and warranty support:
    •  Collaborate closely with developers to implement the requirements, provide necessary guidance to testers during QA process
    • Advice/guide the development team while they analyze the requirements for technical feasibility and implementation.
    • Review the impact analysis document, as needed, to capture any impact of the enhancement of the application.
    • Review /provide suggestions for solution design as necessary.
    • Co-ordinate with various teams, business owners to plan the implementation activities, and in due course roll out the changes to production environment
    • Submit the enhancement related artifacts to client.
  • Troubleshooting production issues
    • Analyze & fix production issues as and when reported.
    • Schedule Face-to-Face meetings with clients’ IT/business users to get proper understanding of the issues.
  • Customer relationship & escalation handling
    • Establish & maintain professional bonding with clients & business stakeholders
    • Proactively handle potential escalations through phone calls/meetings
    • Act as bridging between offshore development teams & clients.
  • Training/Knowledge Management
    • Prepare knowledge repository based on the project documents for any future references
    • Train offshore developers/testers based on the knowledge gathered through meetings/trainings with clients.
  • Experience with following skills
